At Distressed America, our foundation is not found in culture, politics, or personal opinion—it is found in the unchanging truth of God's Word. These are the core biblical convictions that guide our ministry, shape our teaching, and direct everything we seek to accomplish for the glory of Jesus Christ.
Our Statement of Faith
The Holy Scriptures
We believe the Holy Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God. Written under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, it is the complete revelation of God's truth and the final authority for faith, doctrine, and daily living. God's Word is sufficient for every generation and remains unchanged regardless of the shifting values of culture.
God
We believe there is one true and living God, eternally existing in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each Person is fully God, equal in power and glory, yet distinct in personhood. God is sovereign over all creation, perfect in holiness, limitless in wisdom, and abundant in love and mercy.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life, perfectly fulfilled the Law, died as the once-for-all sacrifice for our sins, was buried, and bodily rose from the dead on the third day. He ascended into heaven, where He reigns at the right hand of the Father and will one day return in glory to establish His Kingdom.
Salvation
We believe salvation is the free gift of God's grace, received through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. No person can earn salvation through good works, religious rituals, or personal merit. Through Christ's death and resurrection, those who repent of their sins and trust in Him are forgiven, justified, adopted into God's family, and given eternal life.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer, providing conviction of sin, spiritual growth, wisdom, comfort, and power for faithful living. He equips believers with spiritual gifts to serve the Church and glorify Christ while continually transforming them into His likeness.
The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Christ alone is the Head of the Church. We are called to gather for worship, encourage one another, faithfully teach God's Word, serve with humility, and proclaim the Gospel to the world.
Marriage and Family
We believe God established marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. Marriage reflects Christ's relationship with His Church and serves as the biblical foundation of the family. We believe husbands are called to lovingly lead their families with humility and sacrificial devotion, while wives are honored as equal heirs of God's grace, serving alongside their husbands according to God's design. Parents are entrusted with raising their children in the instruction and discipline of the Lord, cultivating homes where Christ is honored above all else.
The Christian Life
We believe every follower of Christ is called to pursue holiness through the transforming work of the Holy Spirit. Genuine faith produces a life marked by obedience, humility, integrity, compassion, and unwavering devotion to Christ. Though believers still struggle with sin, God faithfully continues His work of sanctification until the day of Christ's return.
The Sanctity of Human Life
We believe every human life is sacred because every person is created in the image of God. From conception to natural death, every life possesses inherent dignity and immeasurable value. We are called to defend, love, and care for every person as image bearers of our Creator.
The Great Commission
We believe Jesus Christ has commissioned His followers to make disciples of all nations by proclaiming the Gospel, baptizing believers, and teaching them to obey His Word. Every Christian has the privilege and responsibility of living as a faithful witness of Christ through both word and deed.
Our Mission
Everything we do at Distressed America exists for one purpose: to glorify Jesus Christ. We seek to encourage men to know Christ deeply, stand firmly on biblical truth, lead their families faithfully, serve their local churches wholeheartedly, and live lives that reflect the Gospel in a culture that desperately needs hope. Our allegiance is not to earthly kingdoms, but to the eternal Kingdom of God and the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
